Dot NAME Domain Names

Launched in 2001, the Dot NAME universal domain name extension is the single TLD meant for personal sites only. These domains can be personal or fictional names, aliases and/or other labels people are known by. Initially, solely third-level registrations were permitted, so if you planned to secure john.doe.name, you would have to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration procedures were loosened and 2nd-level registrations were also allowed. Already bought 3rd-level domain names remained active.

Through our company, you can purchase your dot NAME domain for a time interval between one and ten years. You will have the chance to alter the WHOIS information, to park your domain, to create Custom DNS records, etc. You can also move over an existing domain to our company if you acquire its EPP transfer authorization code from the present registrar and we will renew it as soon as the transfer has been completed. There are no specific stipulations on who can buy a .NAME domain name, but in order to preserve the concept behind its creation alive, the .NAME Registry may check who the owner is and if there is no connection between the owner and the actual domain name, the registration can be challenged.
